Rock ‘n’ roll legend Little Richard laid to rest

Little Richard has reached his final resting place in an Alabama cemetery. 

The rock ‘n’ roll legend born Richard Penniman was buried Wednesday during a closed ceremony at Oakwood University Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama. 

Although the funeral was limited to friends and family, fans were allowed to pay their respects, according to The U.S. Sun. The cemetery allowed fans to watch the procession and even advised them where to park. 

Little Richard died of bone cancer on May 9 in Tennessee at the age of 87. He is best known for songs like “Tutti-Frutti,” “Long Tall Sally, “Good Golly, Miss Molly” and “Lucille.”
