Talking Heads<\/strong>\u2019 iconic concert film\u00a0Stop Making Sense<\/em>\u00a0is headed back to theaters.<\/p>\n

Variety<\/a><\/em>\u00a0reports that in celebration of the movie\u2019s 40th anniversary this summer, A24 is set to rerelease\u00a0its 4K restoration of the film\u00a0to theaters in the U.S. and Canada starting January 27. The\u00a0movie will have residencies in several cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and London.<\/p>\n

To coincide with the rerelease, A24 will also launch a new\u00a0Stop Making Sense<\/em>\u00a0merch collection in theaters, and it will release a collector\u2019s edition 4K and Blu-ray edition of the flick, which will be available for preorder staring January 27.<\/p>\n

The news\u00a0follows the announcement earlier this month that a\u00a0Stop Making Sense<\/em>\u00a0tribute album is on the way, featuring 16 artists covering Talking Heads tunes, including\u00a0Paramore<\/strong>\u2019s take on \u201cBurning Down the House.\u201d<\/p>\n

A24\u2019s 4K restoration of\u00a0Stop Making Sense<\/em>\u00a0debuted at the Toronto Film Festival last September,\u00a0which included\u00a0a Q&A with the reunited band. It livestreamed at\u00a0IMAX theaters across the country, selling out 25 theaters to become\u00a0IMAX’s highest-grossing live event.<\/p>\n

Considered by many to be the greatest concert film of all time,\u00a0Stop Making Sense,\u00a0<\/em>directed by\u00a0Jonathan Demme<\/strong>, was recorded over three shows at Hollywood\u2019s Pantages Theatre in December 1983; the documentary came out the following October.<\/p>\n
