Queen<\/strong>\u00a0continues to delve into the live performances from the 21st century, highlighting a\u00a0Roger<\/strong>\u00a0Taylor<\/strong>-penned ballad in the latest episode of their weekly YouTube series,\u00a0Queen the Greatest Live<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

This week\u2019s clip features footage of a 2005 performance of Taylor\u2019s \u201cThese Are the Days of Our Lives,\u201d from a Queen +\u00a0Paul Rodgers<\/strong>\u00a0show.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Taylor wrote the song in the late ’80s as frontman\u00a0Freddie Mercury<\/strong>\u00a0was ill, something only those in the Queen camp knew. He previously\u00a0shared that the song was inspired by the adventures\u00a0he and Mercury had experienced when they were young men.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI was sitting at home in a rather reflective mood and I did know that Freddie was ill, and I think it came out of that slightly melancholic mood,\u201d\u00a0Taylor previously told Absolute Radio. \u201cI guess I was trying to put an optimistic slant on it in a way \u2013those were the days then. And these are the days of our lives \u2013 today is more important than yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThese Are The Days Of Our Lives\u201d appeared on Queen\u2019s 1991 album,\u00a0Innuendo<\/em>, and the video for the song wound up being the last one Freddie made before his death in November of that year.<\/p>\n
