Former\u00a0Van Halen<\/strong>\u00a0frontman\u00a0Sammy Hagar<\/strong>\u00a0appears in a new episode of the PBS series\u00a0Finding Your Roots<\/em>, and in a\u00a0preview of the episode<\/a>\u00a0Sammy discovers that Hagar really isn\u2019t his last name.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the clip, the rocker\u00a0is informed by host\u00a0Henry Louis Gates Jr.<\/strong>\u00a0that DNA testing shows he doesn\u2019t match with any men with the last name Hagar.<\/p>\n

\u201cGet out of here. This is nutty as anything I\u2019ve ever imagined,\u201d he says in the clip, before being informed that his biological last name is actually Belcher and that he matches with 27 men with that surname.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat a trip,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

Sammy\u2019s episode of\u00a0Finding Your Roots<\/em>\u00a0debuts Tuesday, January 23, at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

Sammy Belcher, we mean Hagar, is gearing up to hit the road this summer on his The Best of All Worlds Tour,\u00a0where he\u2019ll be joined by Van Halen bassist\u00a0Michael Anthony<\/strong>, drummer\u00a0Jason Bonham\u00a0<\/strong>and guitarist\u00a0Joe Satriani<\/strong>.
