On This Day, January 24, 2017\u2026\u00a0<\/p>\n

Allman Brothers Band<\/strong>\u00a0drummer\u00a0Butch Trucks<\/strong>\u00a0died by suicide in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was 69.<\/p>\n

Born\u00a0Claude Hudson Trucks<\/strong>, Butch joined the Allman Brothers Band in 1969 and played with them throughout their career. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 1995.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His nephew, guitarist\u00a0Derek Trucks<\/strong>\u00a0joined the ABB in 1999 and went on to form the\u00a0Tedeschi Trucks Band<\/strong>. Derek’s brother,\u00a0Duane Trucks<\/strong>, is the drummer for\u00a0Widespread Panic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
