Variety<\/em><\/a>\u00a0reports Colman will star\u00a0in and direct an upcoming biopic about legendary singer\u00a0Nat King Cole.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The actor revealed his involvement in the project during an appearance on\u00a0Variety\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0Awards Circuit<\/em>\u00a0podcast, sharing, \u201cI\u2019ve been working on it quietly for a few years. It\u2019s something I\u2019m looking forward to putting together with some great partners.\u201d<\/p>\n

Domingo, who earned a Best Actor nomination for his role in\u00a0Rustin<\/em>, wrote the script for the movie musical, which will be his big-screen directing debut.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, according to\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em>, Domingo has also been cast to play\u00a0Michael Jackson<\/strong>‘s father,\u00a0Joe Jackson<\/strong>, in Lionsgate’s upcoming biopic\u00a0Michael<\/em>. The film, which stars Jackson\u2019s nephew\u00a0Jaafar Jackson\u00a0<\/strong>\ufeffas the King of Pop, has\u00a0a planned release date of April 18, 2025.<\/p>\n
