The band, who was joined by guest keyboardist\u00a0<strong>Billy Preston<\/strong>, did nine takes of five songs\u2014 \u201cGet Back,\u201d \u201cDon\u2019t Let Me Down,\u201d \u201cI\u2019ve Got A Feeling,\u201d \u201cOne After 909\u201d and \u201cDig A Pony\u201d \u2014 with the police pulling the plug after 42 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The concert happened while The Beatles were recording what would become their album\u00a0<em>Let It Be.\u00a0<\/em>It was released May 8, 1970, almost a month after the band\u2019s breakup.<\/p>\n<p>Footage from the concert was used in the 1970 documentary\u00a0<em>Let It Be.\u00a0<\/em>In 2021, the entire performance was featured in the eight-hour Disney+ docuseries\u00a0<em>The Beatles: Get Back,\u00a0<\/em>directed by\u00a0<strong>Peter Jackson<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The full rooftop concert was then released to streaming services as a standalone album,\u00a0<em>Get Back- The Rooftop Performance,\u00a0<\/em>in January 2022.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Beatles: Get Back<\/em>\u00a0went on to win five Emmys, including Best Limited Documentary Series.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
