Blondie<\/strong>\u2019s single \u201cThe Tide Is High\u201d became their third number one song. The track was a remake of a 1967 rocksteady song originally recorded by Jamaican group\u00a0The Paragons.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Tide Is High\u201d also went on to top the charts in the U.K., Canada and New Zealand, and landed in the top five in Australia, South Africa and several European countries.<\/p>\n

Blondie\u2019s previous number ones included \u201cCall Me\u201d and \u201cHeart of Glass.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Tide Is High\u201d was the lead single from Blondie\u2019s fifth studio album,\u00a0Autoamerican<\/em>, which later produced another number one hit, \u201cRapture.\u201d<\/p>\n
