Bruce Springsteen<\/strong>\u00a0is mourning the loss of his mother,\u00a0Adele<\/strong>, who passed away Wednesday, January 31, at the age of 98.<\/p>\n

The Boss shared a\u00a0video on Instagram<\/a>\u00a0of him dancing with his mom alongside lyrics to the song \u201cThe Wish,\u201d which\u00a0was\u00a0written for her. In it, he sings about her buying him a guitar for Christmas and his memories on how she looked getting up and ready for work each day.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Wish\u201d was one of the songs Springsteen would perform on his\u00a0Springsteen on Broadway<\/em>\u00a0run, during which he revealed she had\u00a0Alzheimer\u2019s disease.\u00a0The chorus has him singing about the wish he has for his mom, who he said loved to dance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt ain\u2019t no phone call on Sunday, flowers or a Mother\u2019s Day card\/ It ain\u2019t no house on the hill with a garden and a nice little yard,\u201d he sings in the chorus. \u201cI\u2019ve got my hot rod down on Bond Street I\u2019m older but you\u2019ll know me in a glance\/We\u2019ll find us a Little rock \u2018n roll bar and we\u2019ll go out and dance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adele grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, and was a legal secretary. She was also a big supporter of her son’s career, often showing up at his concerts and rocking along with the crowd.<\/p>\n
