{"id":28689,"date":"2024-02-05T21:03:28","date_gmt":"2024-02-05T21:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/christine-mcvies-piano-brings-in-over-50k-for-musicares\/"},"modified":"2024-02-05T21:03:28","modified_gmt":"2024-02-05T21:03:28","slug":"christine-mcvies-piano-brings-in-over-50k-for-musicares","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/christine-mcvies-piano-brings-in-over-50k-for-musicares\/","title":{"rendered":"Christine McVie\u2019s piano brings in over $50K for MusiCares"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-02-05\/M_MusicaresJuliensAuction_011124.jpg\" alt=\"\"><figcaption>courtesy of Julien&#8217;s Auctions<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ahead of the Grammy Awards,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.juliensauctions.com\/en\/articles\/musicares-charity-relief-auction-a-fusion-of-music-and-philanthropy\">Julien&#8217;s Auctions<\/a>\u00a0held their annual live MusiCares auction at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, raising over $500,000 for the organization, the charitable arm of the Recording Academy, which provides health and human services to the music community.<\/p>\n<p>One of the highlights of the auction was a Yamaha C3 Baby Grand Piano the late\u00a0<strong>Fleetwood Mac<\/strong>\u00a0co-founder, co-singer and songwriter\u00a0<strong>Christine McVie\u00a0<\/strong>played onstage, which sold for $50,800, well above the initial estimate of between $20,000 and $30,000.<\/p>\n<p>Other items sold at the auction include: MusiCares Person of the Year\u00a0<strong>Jon Bon Jovi<\/strong>\u2019s stage played 2018 Takamine black EF341SC acoustic guitar, which sold for $44,450, and a signed hardcover copy of\u00a0<strong>Paul<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>McCartney<\/strong>\u2019s book,\u00a0<em>The Lyrics: 1965 to Present<\/em>, which sold for $16,250.<\/p>\n<p>There were also loads of other guitars that brought in the big bucks, including\u00a0<strong>Metallica<\/strong>\u00a0frontman\u00a0<strong>James<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Hetfield<\/strong>\u2019s autographed signature ESP LTD Vulture model guitar, which sold for $32,500; a\u00a0guitar signed by\u00a0<strong>Slash<\/strong>\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Guns N\u2019 Roses,<\/strong>\u00a0which went for $16,250;\u00a0<strong>Joe Walsh<\/strong>\u2019s personally signed White Fang ES-125 TDC guitar, which sold for $16,250 and a\u00a0<strong>Lenny Kravitz<\/strong>\u00a0signed 2022 Gibson 80s Flying V, which sold for $22,750.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
