{"id":28717,"date":"2024-02-08T03:02:25","date_gmt":"2024-02-08T03:02:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/blue-oyster-cult-to-drop-new-album-ghost-stories-in-april\/"},"modified":"2024-02-08T03:02:25","modified_gmt":"2024-02-08T03:02:25","slug":"blue-oyster-cult-to-drop-new-album-ghost-stories-in-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/blue-oyster-cult-to-drop-new-album-ghost-stories-in-april\/","title":{"rendered":"Blue \u00d6yster Cult to drop new album, &#8216;Ghost Stories&#8217;, in April"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-02-07\/M_BlueOysterCultGhostStories_020724.jpg\" alt=\"\"><figcaption>Frontiers Music Srl<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Blue \u00d6yster Cult<\/strong>\u00a0is following up their recent 50th anniversary celebration with a brand new album, which appears to be their last.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The album,\u00a0<em>Ghost Stories<\/em>, will drop April 12, with the press release noting it \u201cmarks a fitting finale to the recording legacy of one of rock\u2019s most iconic fixtures from the past 50 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Ghost Stories<\/em>\u00a0features a collection of \u201clost gems\u201d that were recorded between 1978 and 1983.\u00a0There&#8217;s also one track, \u201cIf I Fell,\u201d\u00a0that was recorded in 2016 and a live cover of the\u00a0<strong>MC5<\/strong>\u00a0classic \u201cKick Out The Jams,\u201d the only known recording of BOC\u2019s take on the song.<\/p>\n<p>The tracks on the album were transferred from reel-to-reel analog tape to digital audio by the band\u2019s original audio engineer,\u00a0<strong>George Geranios<\/strong>, with producers\u00a0<strong>Steve Schenck<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Richie Castellano<\/strong>\u00a0using\u00a0artificial intelligence\u00a0to complete the songs.<\/p>\n<p>And Blue \u00d6yster Cult is giving fans their first preview of what to expect from the record, with the release of the track \u201cSo Supernatural,\u201d along with an AI-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Jbf6i23DeLs\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">generated video<\/a>\u00a0for the track.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ghost Stories<\/em>\u00a0is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/orcd.co\/bocghoststories\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">available for preorder<\/a>\u00a0now.<\/p>\n<p><iframe allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Jbf6i23DeLs\" title=\"Blue \u00d6yster Cult - \" so supernatural official music video width=\"640\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
