Henry Lee Fambrough<\/strong>, the last surviving founding member of R&B group\u00a0The Spinners<\/strong>, passed away Wednesday, the band\u2019s rep\u00a0Tanisha Lynn Jackson<\/strong>\u00a0confirms to ABC Audio.\u00a0Fambrough died\u00a0at his home in Virginia at the age of 85.<\/p>\n

Fambrough formed The Spinners in 1954 with\u00a0Pervis Jackson<\/strong>,\u00a0Billy Henderson<\/strong>,\u00a0Bobby Smith<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0C.P. Spencer<\/strong>. Known for his baritone vocals and handlebar mustache, Fambrough was featured on such songs as \u201cI Don\u2019t Want To Lose You,\u201d\u00a0\u201cGhetto Child\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cJust As Long As We Have Love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fambrough’s death comes just months after The Spinners were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November. He attended the celebration at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where the group\u00a0was\u00a0honored by\u00a0New Edition<\/strong>, who performed a medley of their classic tunes.<\/p>\n

A funeral for Fambrough will be held\u00a0Saturday, February 17, at St. Stephen AME Church in Detroit, Michigan. There will also be a public viewing on Friday, February 16.<\/p>\n
