{"id":28761,"date":"2024-02-13T12:02:34","date_gmt":"2024-02-13T12:02:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/peter-frampton-didnt-expect-to-receive-rock-roll-hall-of-fame-nomination\/"},"modified":"2024-02-13T12:02:34","modified_gmt":"2024-02-13T12:02:34","slug":"peter-frampton-didnt-expect-to-receive-rock-roll-hall-of-fame-nomination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/peter-frampton-didnt-expect-to-receive-rock-roll-hall-of-fame-nomination\/","title":{"rendered":"Peter Frampton didn\u2019t expect to receive Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame nomination"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-02-12\/M_PeterFramptonRockHall_021324.jpg\" alt=\"\"><figcaption>Courtesy of the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Peter Frampton<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the artists who was been nominated for the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame this year \u2014 his first nomination, even though he\u2019s been eligible since 1997.\u00a0And while many feel it&#8217;s been a long time coming, he tells\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vulture.com\/article\/peter-frampton-rock-hall-of-fame-nomination-interview.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Vulture<\/a>\u00a0the recognition\u00a0was quite a surprise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThroughout my life, I never really expected anything,\u201d he says. \u201cI know a lot of other people have expected this on my behalf, and I appreciate them, but if it wasn\u2019t going to happen, it wasn\u2019t going to happen.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Frampton says he never expected a nomination \u201cbecause I\u2019m a realist,\u201d explaining, \u201cI\u2019ve had a storied career. I\u2019ve been up and down and up and down more times than a yo-yo. The Rock Hall has never been something where I\u2019ve said to myself,\u00a0<em>I deserve this. I expect this.\u00a0<\/em>I\u2019m not that kind of a person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He adds, \u201cI have nothing to complain about. If you don\u2019t expect it, it\u2019s all the nicer when it happens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Frampton says in the past he has criticized the Rock Hall for who has been nominated and suggests\u00a0<strong>Jann Wenner<\/strong>&#8216;s\u00a0ouster from the board should improve things. &#8220;It\u2019s for the better. Things will be more realistic,&#8221; he says.<\/p>\n<p>And\u00a0Frampton feels his nomination may not have happened had\u00a0<strong>Sheryl Crow\u00a0<\/strong>not invited him to perform with her at the 2023 ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll continue to thank her for stirring the pot. She was saying,\u00a0<em>Look, this guy isn\u2019t in, what do you think about that?&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>he says<em>. &#8220;<\/em>That was her goal, I think.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Hall of Fame fan vote is open until April 26; fans can vote for up to seven artists daily. Inductees will be announced in April, and the 2024 induction ceremony will take place in Cleveland in the fall.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
