Queen<\/strong>\u00a0has announced a special Record Store Day release of the track \u201cCool Cat,\u201d a B-side from their 10th studio\u00a0album,\u00a0Hot Space.<\/em><\/p>\n

The tune, written and performed solely by\u00a0Freddie Mercury<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0John Deacon<\/strong>, will be released as a limited-edition, 7-inch pink vinyl for Record Store Day, April 20, with a previously unreleased instrumental version of the song on side B. It will be the first time the tune\u2019s ever been released as a single.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Cool Cat” has recently seen\u00a0a resurgence thanks to its appearance in an\u00a0ad for Amazon Prime<\/a>, which was directed by\u00a0Olivia Wilde<\/strong>. The clip features a young girl who is inspired by images of Mercury to embrace her own unique style.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Originally released in 1982, “Cool Cat” was the B-side to \u201cLas Palabras De Amor,\u201d which was a top 20 hit in the U.K. Both songs appeared on\u00a0Hot Space<\/em>, which also featured the hit tracks \u201cUnder Pressure\u201d and \u201cBody Language.\u201d<\/p>\n
