Joan Jett<\/strong>\u00a0is one of the many female musicians featured in an upcoming Rock & Roll Hall of Fame exhibit titled\u00a0Revolutionary Women in Music: Left of Center<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In addition to Jett, who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with her band\u00a0The Blackhearts<\/strong>\u00a0in 2015, the exhibit will showcase artifacts and items related to such artists as\u00a0Meg White<\/strong>,\u00a0Natalie Merchant<\/strong>,\u00a0Siouxsie Sioux<\/strong>,\u00a0Liz Phair<\/strong>,\u00a0Beyonc\u00e9<\/strong>,\u00a0Pink<\/strong>,\u00a0Queen Latifah<\/strong>,\u00a0Ani DeFranco<\/strong>,\u00a0Sleater-Kinney<\/strong>,\u00a0Christina Aguilera<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Suzanne Vega<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“As the saying goes, well-behaved women rarely make history \u2014 and revolutionary women have often used music and lyrics to take action, convey truth, and call for change,” says\u00a0Shelby Morrison<\/strong>, the Rock Hall’s VP of curatorial operations. “For generations, women have fought against socially constructed gender norms to obtain equal social, political, and economic freedoms, and this exhibit, which has been decades in the making, will tell this story in a way that has never been done before.”<\/p>\n

Revolutionary Women in Music: Left of Center<\/em>\u00a0will open March 8 at the Rock Hall’s Cleveland museum. On March 7, the Rock Hall will introduce the exhibit with an event featuring 2021 Hall of Fame inductee\u00a0Jane Wiedlin<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0The Go-Go’s<\/strong>,\u00a0Garbage<\/strong>‘s\u00a0Shirley Manson<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Lisa Loeb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
