On This Day, February 16, 1974\u2026<\/p>\n

Bob Dylan<\/strong>\u2019s fourteenth studio album,\u00a0Planet Waves,\u00a0<\/em>became his first album to hit number one on the\u00a0Billboard\u00a0<\/em>Album chart.<\/p>\n

Recorded with his longtime collaborators\u00a0The Band<\/strong>,\u00a0Planet Waves\u00a0<\/em>includes the future classic \u201cForever Young,\u201d which appeared on the record in two different versions. The\u00a0album\u00a0was originally supposed to be titled\u00a0Ceremonies of the Horsemen<\/em>, and the release was delayed two weeks because of the title change.<\/p>\n

Dylan and The Band supported\u00a0Planet Waves\u00a0<\/em>with a tour, documented on the live album\u00a0Before the Flood,\u00a0<\/em>which was Dylan\u2019s first since 1966.<\/p>\n

Dylan went on to have five #1 albums over the course of his career, his last being his 33rd album, 2009\u2019s\u00a0Together Through Life<\/em>.<\/p>\n
