It also gained the rights to the group\u2019s music, which means the songs will likely be featured in the film.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Barry Gibb<\/strong>, the only surviving member of the sibling trio, which also included his late brothers\u00a0<strong>Robin<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Maurice<\/strong>, is on board as executive producer.<\/p>\n<p>Scott, who recently completed directing a sequel to\u00a0<em>Gladiator<\/em>, actually has a history with the Bee Gees. In the &#8217;70s, when he was trying to launch his directing career, the group\u2019s manager\u00a0<strong>Robert Stigwood<\/strong>\u00a0was trying to get into the movie business. He hired Scott to direct a medieval film,\u00a0<em>Castle,\u00a0<\/em>which was supposed to star the brothers. The film was never made.<\/p>\n<p>The Bee Gees have sold over 120 million records worldwide, thanks to hit albums like the soundtrack to\u00a0<em>Saturday Night Fever<\/em>, which won five Grammys, including Album of the Year. Their hits include such songs as \u201cNight Fever,\u201d \u201cStayin\u2019 Alive,\u201d \u201cJive Talking\u201d and \u201cYou Should Be Dancing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
