We haven\u2019t heard much from Van Halen<\/strong> drummer Alex Van Halen<\/strong> since the death of brother and bandmate Eddie Van Halen<\/strong>, but that\u2019s about to change.<\/span><\/p>\n

A post on publisher <\/span>Harper Collins\u2019 website<\/strong><\/span><\/a> reveals that Alex has written a new book,\u00a0<\/span>Brothers<\/span><\/em>, which will be released on October 22.<\/span><\/p>\n

The announcement doesn\u2019t offer many details about the book, only the release date, that it will be 384 pages and will sell for $32. It also lists an alternative title, <\/span>The Brothers Van Halen<\/span><\/em>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The book is <\/span>available for preorder<\/strong><\/span><\/a> now.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alex has been fairly quiet and hasn\u2019t played music publicly since Eddie\u2019s death in 2020.\u00a0In January,\u00a0on what would have been Eddie\u2019s 69th birthday, he shared a picture of them together\u00a0<\/span>on Instagram<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0with the caption, \u201cWe miss you\u201d\u00a0and the hashtag #VanHalenForever.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alex isn\u2019t the first member of Van Halen to write a book.\u00a0The band’s original frontman\u00a0David Lee Roth\u00a0<\/strong>released his autobiography,\u00a0<\/span>Crazy from the Heat<\/span><\/em>, in 1997, while Roth’s replacement\u00a0Sammy Hagar\u00a0<\/strong>released his,\u00a0<\/span>Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock<\/span><\/em>, in 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n
