It went on to hit #1 in 19 countries but only went to #2 in the U.K. and #16 in the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The video for the track \u201cI Want to Break Free\u201d caused some controversy because the band dressed in drag. Backlash in the U.S. led to the band\u2019s decision to not tour the album in North America.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">The Works<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\">, which peaked at #23 in the U.S., went on to sell over 6 million copies worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
