John Fogerty<\/strong> says he\u2019s \u201cbewildered\u201d by the recent announcement that his appearance at Queensland’s Country Fest\u00a0in March had been canceled.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI still remain able and ready and willing to do this show,\u201d he tells <\/span>Billboard<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>. \u201cI take the commitment of playing for the fans very seriously. Throughout my career, practically my whole life, there\u2019s hardly ever been a cancelation.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Country Fest is scheduled to happen March 30-31. Organizers blamed \u201cunforeseen circumstances\u201d for Fogerty\u2019s cancellation, but he insists he doesn\u2019t know why it happened.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was happy to be coming down to Australia to play. It sounded like a really fun event,\u201d he says.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the cancellation was announced, Fogerty took to social media to address the issue, insisting he was “blindsided” by the news. Country Fest later <\/span>posted a clarification<\/strong><\/span><\/a> regarding the\u00a0situation, explaining they had been in negotiations with Fogerty’s team for months but they\u00a0\u201cdid not reach a final outcome\u201d and talks stopped as of Friday, February 23.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe matter is now subject to court proceedings in the Supreme Court of Queensland,\u201d the statement continued,\u00a0adding\u00a0the case will be heard\u00a0in March\u00a0and they \u201cdo not intend to comment further.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fogerty also addressed his\u00a0Australian fans in a separate <\/span>social media post<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, performing \u201cBad Moon Rising\u201d for them. He captioned the clip, \u201cTo all my loving fans in Australia\u2026 I hope to be back there soon!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
