While some songwriters may find themselves struggling to write tunes or finish a song, it seems that’s never really been a problem for\u00a0Paul McCartney<\/strong>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

In a new Q&A <\/span>on his website<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, McCartney\u00a0reveals that writer’s block is something he\u2019s never really had to deal with.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t really get it. I\u2019m quite lucky with that – touch wood!\u201d he shares. \u201cI hardly ever sit down and go, \u2018I\u2019m going to write\u2019. It\u2019s nearly always when I\u2019ve got some time and there\u2019s nothing else I particularly want or need to do.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cI can just sit down and noodle around with something because it\u2019s come from my own desire and not somebody else\u2019s, or of a requirement. It often comes reasonably easy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

McCartney says he\u2019s blessed that he’s never really felt stuck on a tune, sharing, \u201cI sometimes tell the story of John (Lennon)<\/strong> and I having written just short of three hundred songs, and every time we sat down to write we came up with a song. Which is incredible!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Writing comes so easily to\u00a0McCartney that he\u00a0says\u00a0he sometimes has to stop what he\u2019s doing to take note of a song idea that his come to him.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got endless bits of paper stuffed in places, which one of these days I swear I\u2019m going to get to!” he says. “But most things these days are written on my phone.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He adds that luckily he\u2019s his own boss and only gets concerned about writing if he\u2019s on a deadline, noting,\u00a0\u00a0\u201cI can decide what I want to do and when I want to do it, and that helps with the writing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
