But it wasn\u2019t just any old can of suds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>The\u00a0Who<\/strong> frontman showed off his birthday beverage of choice <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C39nyaKN9kI\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>on social media<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">:\u00a0Rogers Pale Ale, a beer specially brewed for him by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lakedownbrewing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Lakedown Brewing<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\"> company that featured\u00a0a classic photo of Roger on the can.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWhat better way to mark your 80th birthday than having your own beer made by your family brewery!\u201d read the post. \u201cA very happy birthday Roger!\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Unfortunately, Who fans won\u2019t be able to sample Roger\u2019s birthday brew. It was made only for him and it&#8217;s not for sale.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Roger&#8217;s big day was also celebrated by plenty of fans who took to social media to wish the rocker a happy 80th. He also got a message from the cancer charity Teenage Cancer Trust.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Daltrey has curated the organization&#8217;s charity concerts for the past 24 years but is stepping down after this year&#8217;s shows, which are happening at the end of March.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">&#8220;Happy 80th Birthday to our incredible Honorary Patron,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TeenageCancer\/status\/1763491955160346927?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Teenage Cancer Trust wrote<\/strong><\/a>. &#8220;<span class=\"css-1qaijid r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">There\u2019s not long to go until this year\u2019s <\/span><span class=\"r-18u37iz\">@RoyalAlbertHall<\/span><span class=\"css-1qaijid r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\"> shows, marking Roger\u2019s final year as curator. So to celebrate his big day, here\u2019s a throwback to Roger&#8217;s performance at the hall last year.&#8221; The post was accompanied by photos from last year&#8217;s concerts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"css-1qaijid r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">The\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Who\u00a0will headline Teenage Cancer Trust shows at London&#8217;s Royal Albert Hall on March 18 and 20.\u00a0Daltrey\u2019s time as curator will be celebrated at the same venue on March 24 with a special concert featuring guests\u00a0<strong>Robert Plant\u00a0<\/strong>with\u00a0<strong>Saving Grace<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Pearl Jam<\/strong>\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Eddie Vedder<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Stereophonics<\/strong>\u2019\u00a0<strong>Kelly Jones\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Paul Weller<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
