On This Day, March 4, 1967\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rolling Stones<\/strong> landed their fourth #1 on the <\/span>Billboard<\/span><\/em> Hot 100 chart with \u201cRuby Tuesday.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The tune, written by Mick Jagger<\/strong> and Keith Richards<\/strong>, was released as the B side to the single with \u201cLet\u2019s Spend the Night Together,\u201d although in the U.K., where it went to #3,\u00a0the two tracks were\u00a0released as a double A-sided single.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRuby Tuesday,\u201d which was later included on the U.S. version of their album <\/span>Between the Buttons<\/span><\/em>, went on to be one of the band\u2019s classic tunes and is often played at their live shows.<\/span><\/p>\n

The track was certified Gold by the RIAA.<\/span><\/p>\n

In total, The Rolling Stones have had eight #1 hits in the U.S., their\u00a0last being “Miss You” in August 1978.<\/span><\/p>\n
