On This Day, March 6, 2000\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Eric Clapton\u00a0<\/strong>was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist, his third time being inducted into the prestigious institution. Clapton was the first and is still the only musician to be inducted into the Hall of Fame three times.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Clapton was previously inducted into the Hall of Fame as a member of\u00a0The\u00a0Yardbirds\u00a0<\/strong>in 1992, and then again in 1993 as a member of\u00a0Cream<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Clapton is the only artist to be inducted three times, several have been inducted twice, including all four members of\u00a0The Beatles<\/strong>, all four members of\u00a0Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young<\/strong>,\u00a0Stevie Nicks<\/strong>,\u00a0Paul Simon<\/strong>,\u00a0Peter Gabriel<\/strong>,\u00a0Rod Stewart<\/strong>,\u00a0Ronnie Wood<\/strong>,\u00a0Jeff Beck<\/strong>, and Dave Grohl<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The nominees for the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame were recently announced, with Peter Frampton<\/strong>, Foreigner<\/strong> and Lenny Kravitz<\/strong> among this year\u2019s nominees. Inductees will be announced in April.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
