Little Feat<\/strong> is set to release their first new album in 12 years,\u00a0<\/span>Sam\u2019s Place,<\/span><\/em> on May 17.\u00a0The record is the group\u2019s first blues album, and\u00a0the first to feature percussionist\u00a0Sam Clayton<\/strong> on lead vocals.<\/span><\/p>\n

The nine-track album is made up of\u00a0a mixture of blues covers\u00a0and one new song, \u201cMilk Man,\u201d which Sam wrote.\u00a0The album also features a guest appearance by Bonnie Raitt<\/strong> on a cover of Muddy Waters<\/strong>\u2019 \u201cLong Distance Call.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI’m very happy because I was never expecting anything like that,\u201d Clayton says of\u00a0singing on the album. \u201cI mean, I have wanted to, but I just wasn’t expecting it to come to fruition. It was a long wait, but it\u2019s satisfying.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

To give fans a little preview of the record, Little Feat has just released the track \u201cYou\u2019ll Be Mine,\u201d a cover of a Willie Dixon<\/strong>-penned tune made famous by Howlin\u2019 Wolf<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
