U2<\/strong> is celebrating International Women\u2019s Day by\u00a0sharing a live cover of the Crowded House<\/strong> classic \u201cDon\u2019t Dream It\u2019s Over” on their <\/span>Instagram<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. The cover has them singing along to a new recording\u00a0of the song sent to them by\u00a0Crowded House frontman Neil Finn<\/strong>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The performance was recorded during the final night of U2\u2019s Las Vegas residency, <\/span>U2: UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere<\/span><\/em>,\u00a0and it was dedicated to Yulia Navalnaya<\/strong>, the widow of\u00a0late Russian opposition leader\u00a0Alexei Navalny<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNeil Finn beamed in to Sphere last weekend to sing his song with us for Yulia Navalnaya, who is continuing the fight for freedom and against [Vladimir<\/strong>]\u00a0Putin<\/strong> \u2014 a fight her husband Alexei Navalny gave his life for,\u201d\u00a0U2\u00a0shares in the caption of the post. \u201cOn this International Women\u2019s Day, we honor Yulia and all women fighting for freedom around the world, those whose names we know, and those whose names we\u2019ll never know.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The recording also features backing vocals by the Sphere audience, who sang along for the recording, per Bono<\/strong>‘s request.<\/span><\/p>\n

In other Crowded House news, the band just released a <\/span>new video<\/strong><\/span><\/a> of their latest single, \u201cOh Hi.\u201d The new clip, featuring the children of Kenya\u2019s Aberdare Ranges school, is in support of So They Can, a nonprofit that builds schools in remote parts of Kenya and Tanzania. “Oh Hi” is the first single off\u00a0Crowded House’s new album, <\/span>Gravity Stairs<\/span><\/em>, which drops May 31.<\/span><\/p>\n
