{"id":28990,"date":"2024-03-11T21:05:50","date_gmt":"2024-03-11T21:05:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/bruce-springsteen-makes-surprise-appearance-at-john-mellencamps-new-jersey-show\/"},"modified":"2024-03-11T21:05:50","modified_gmt":"2024-03-11T21:05:50","slug":"bruce-springsteen-makes-surprise-appearance-at-john-mellencamps-new-jersey-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/bruce-springsteen-makes-surprise-appearance-at-john-mellencamps-new-jersey-show\/","title":{"rendered":"Bruce Springsteen makes surprise appearance at John Mellencamp\u2019s New Jersey show"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-03-11\/Getty_BruceSpringsteenJohnMellencamp_031124.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Jeff Kravitz\/FilmMagic<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Folks who came out to <strong>John Mellencamp<\/strong>\u2019s concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center on Sunday, March 10, got quite a treat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While Mellencamp was getting ready to perform his classic tune \u201cPink Houses,\u201d he surprised fans by bringing out New Jersey\u2019s favorite rocker\u00a0<strong>Bruce Springsteen<\/strong>, who was dressed simply in a T-shirt and jeans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Mellencamp shared footage of the performance <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C4Wz1nMLtHd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>on social media<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">, which sees\u00a0the two rockers trading off verses of the song and coming together for the chorus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This certainly isn\u2019t the first time Mellencamp and Springsteen have performed together. In fact, Springsteen appeared on Mellencamp\u2019s 2022 album, <\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">Strictly a One-Eyed Jack<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\">, singing on the tune \u201cWasted Days.&#8221; He also contributed guitar and background vocals on two other songs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Mellencamp is currently on his Live and In Person tour, which hits Worcester, Massachusetts, on March 11.
