Eric Clapton<\/strong> hit #1 with <\/span>Unplugged<\/span><\/em>, an album featuring performances from his <\/span>MTV Unplugged<\/span><\/em> episode, which was recorded live in front of a studio audience.<\/span><\/p>\n

The album, which featured performances of such songs as \u201cTears in Heaven,\u201d about the death of his four-year-old son,\u00a0Conor<\/strong>, and an acoustic version of \u201cLayla,\u201d which spent three weeks in the top spot of the U.S. album chart.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unplugged<\/span><\/em> went on to win three Grammy Awards, including Record and Song of the Year for \u201cTears In Heaven.\u201d It sold 26 million copies worldwide to become the bestselling live album of all time.<\/span><\/p>\n
