There are more than 60 artists playing on Mark Knopfler<\/strong>‘s all-star charity single<\/a> “Going Home (Theme from Local Hero,” but now that the official video is out<\/a>, you can see who is playing what, and when.<\/p>\n

As the song plays, the name of each guitarist you hear appears on screen, starting with the late Jeff Beck<\/strong>. It was his final recording before his death in January 2023. The animated names come together and blend in digital animation, since many guitarists are heard playing simultaneously.<\/p>\n

The song also features Ringo Starr<\/strong> and his son Zak Starkey <\/strong>on drums, Sting<\/strong> on bass, The Who<\/strong>‘s Roger Daltrey<\/strong> on harmonica and Journey<\/strong>‘s Jonathan Cain<\/strong> on keyboards.<\/p>\n

Among the other artists you’ll hear on the song: The Who<\/strong>\u2019s Pete Townshend<\/strong>, Bruce Springsteen<\/strong>, Eric Clapton<\/strong>, Peter Frampton<\/strong>, Queen<\/strong>\u2019s Brian May<\/strong>, Rush<\/strong>\u2019s Alex Lifeson<\/strong>, Joan Jett<\/strong>, Black Sabbath<\/strong>\u2019s Tony Iommi<\/strong>, Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/strong>\u2019 Slash<\/strong>, the Eagles<\/strong>\u2019 Joe Walsh<\/strong>, Pink Floyd<\/strong>\u2019s David Gilmour<\/strong>, Rage Against the Machine<\/strong>\u2019s Tom Morello<\/strong>, Joe Satriani<\/strong>, Steve Vai<\/strong>, Joan Jett<\/strong>, Cheap Trick<\/strong>‘s Rick Nielsen<\/strong>, Dave Mason<\/strong>, Nile Rodgers<\/strong>, Mike Rutherford <\/strong>of Genesis <\/strong>and The Rolling Stones<\/strong>\u2019 Ronnie Wood<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Going Home” is a remake of Knopfler\u2019s own tune, which appeared in the 1983 film <\/span>Local Hero.<\/span><\/em> Credited to Mark Knopfler’s Guitar Heroes<\/strong>, the song will raise money for the U.K.’s Teenage Cancer Trust and <\/span>Teen Cancer America<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend\u00a0founded TCA in 2012. It funds and develops age-specific facilities, programs and services for teenagers and young adults with cancer in hospitals across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n
