Bruce Springsteen<\/strong> has been\u00a0chosen as the next\u00a0Academy Fellow of The Ivors Academy, the U.K. organization that presents The Ivor Novello Awards, which celebrate excellence in British and Irish songwriting.<\/span><\/p>\n

Springsteen is now the first international songwriter to earn a fellowship, which is the highest honor handed out by the Ivors. He is being recognized for his \u201coutstanding contribution to the craft of songwriting\u201d and \u201chis impact on the U.K.\u2019s cultural landscape.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m proud to be the first international songwriter to be recognized by The Ivors Academy,\u201d\u00a0The Boss shares. \u201cIn addition to recognizing my songwriting, the award stands as a tribute to the fans and friends who have supported me and my work for the last fifty years.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cThis entire country has made me feel welcome every step of the way, and for this, I will always remain deeply appreciative.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Springsteen is now the 27th Ivors Fellow. Other artists who have received the honor include Sting<\/strong>, Paul McCartney<\/strong>, Kate Bush<\/strong>, Elton John<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Peter Gabriel<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

To celebrate the new honor, Springsteen is releasing a limited edition vinyl of his upcoming compilation,\u00a0<\/span>The Best of Bruce Springsteen,<\/span><\/em> in Jersey Devil Red through <\/span>Amazon<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, which is the sponsor of\u00a0The Ivors ceremony.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Springsteen will be presented with his honor at The Ivors,\u00a0taking place May 23 in London. Nominees for the Ivor Novello Awards will be announced on April 23.<\/span><\/p>\n
