Legendary singer Diana Ross<\/strong> turned 80 on Tuesday, March 26, and the milestone birthday was marked by well-wishes from family and friends on social media.<\/span><\/p>\n

The singer\u2019s daughter\u00a0Tracee Ellis Ross<\/strong>\u00a0celebrated her mom with a collage of photos <\/span>on Instagram<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, writing, \u201cOh how I love you Mom. 80 incredible pictures of you in 80 seconds to celebrate your 80th birthday today.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She also shared some facts about her mom that even she finds \u201cstaggering,\u201d including that from 1976 to 1985 Ross \u201cput out an album a year, did multiple tours, produced and starred in a variety of TV specials, shot <\/span>Mahogany<\/span><\/em> and <\/span>The Wiz<\/span><\/em>, produced her legendary 1983 Central Park concert with an estimated 800,000 attendees.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

She adds, \u201cAmidst shattering records, breaking glass ceilings, and setting a new bar for style and glamour, we, her children, were always her priority. As I often say, ‘Diana Ross’ the beloved global icon is legendary but she doesn\u2019t hold a candle to my Mama.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On her own <\/span>Instagram page<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, Ross shared an archival performance of a song called \u201cThat\u2019s Why I Call You My Friend,\u201d\u00a0calling it \u201ca birthday love letter.\u201d The performance prompted\u00a0comments from several celebrities, including Andy Cohen<\/strong>, who wrote, \u201cyou are LOVED,\u201d and Jody Watley<\/strong>, who added, \u201cHappy Birthday Blessings.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ross also received birthday wishes from <\/span>The Temptations<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, who called Ross “a wonderful woman and a very talented friend”; the band Foreigner<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>who shared<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0video of a cover Ross did of their hit \u201cI Want To Know What Love Is”; and\u00a0Sister Sledge<\/strong>, <\/span>who called her<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0a “timeless legend”\u00a0and “An absolute icon and trailblazer!”<\/span><\/p>\n
