Bruce Springsteen<\/strong> had a few surprises in store for his fans as he kicked off a two-night stand at Los Angeles\u2019 Kia Forum on Thursday, April 4, and they began right at the top of the show.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to <\/span>setlist.fm<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, The Boss led off the\u00a0concert with a cover of the John Lee Hooker<\/strong> tune \u201cBoom Boom,\u201d which was not only a tour debut, but the first time he’s performed the song since 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another big surprise was the return of Springsteen\u2019s wife,\u00a0Patti Scialfa<\/strong>, who has been mostly absent from this tour.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fan-shot footage posted to YouTube shows Springsteen introducing his better half by saying, \u201cI\u2019m happy to say my beautiful wife Patti Scialfa is in the house.\u201d They then launched into the <\/span>Tunnel of Love<\/span><\/em> track \u201cTougher Than the Rest,\u201d another tour debut, marking the first time they\u2019ve performed the song with the E Street Band<\/strong> since 2016.<\/span><\/p>\n

That was followed by a mostly acoustic version of \u201cFire,\u201d also a first for this tour and the first performance of the song with the band since 2017.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

And that wasn\u2019t the end of the surprises. Later in the set, Springsteen took a sign request from the audience, performing\u00a0his take on the traditional cajun song “Jole Blon,”\u00a0marking the first time he and the band performed the song since 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, there were plenty of hits for fans to enjoy, including “Born to Run,” “Hungry Heart,” “Thunder Road,” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
