The Beach Boys<\/strong>\u2019 Brian Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>is one of the many artists featured on the upcoming reimagining of the late\u00a0Glen Campbell<\/strong>\u2019s farewell album,\u00a0<\/span>Ghosts on the Canvas,\u00a0<\/span><\/em>and his contribution to the record has just been released.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wilson is featured on the song \u201cStrong,\u201d written by Campbell and the album\u2019s producer,\u00a0Julian Raymond<\/strong>. The original track has Campbell singing about facing his life with Alzheimer\u2019s disease, which he\u00a0had been diagnosed with in 2011.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGlen was a great singer and a great guy,\u201d Brian shares. \u201cOur intention in doing \u2018Strong\u2019 was to echo back to \u2018Guess I\u2019m Dumb\u2019 and the times that Glen and I worked together. It’s kinda got that vibe to it and I dig the sound of it.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Guess I\u2019m Dumb\u201d is song written by Wilson and Russ Titelman<\/strong>, which Campbell released as a single in 1965.<\/span><\/p>\n

Co-writer Raymond adds, “Hearing Brian and his team record one of Glen\u2019s wife Kim\u2019s favorite songs was very emotional for sure. Everything that Brian has been through himself shows up in this performance of \u2018Strong.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Glen Campbell Duets – Ghost on the Canvas Sessions\u00a0<\/span><\/em>recreates all the songs on Campbell’s 2011 farewell album as duets, using Campbell\u2019s original vocals. Guest artists on the record include Elton John<\/strong>, Eric Clapton<\/strong>, Sting<\/strong>, Carole King\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Dolly Parton<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Glen Campbell Duets – Ghost on the Canvas Sessions\u00a0<\/span><\/em>will be released April 19 and is\u00a0<\/span>available for preorder<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0now.<\/span><\/p>\n
