The Tom Petty<\/strong> estate has announced they\u2019ve donated $150,000 to support women\u2019s reproductive rights in the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n

A post on the late singer\u2019s <\/span>Instagram<\/strong><\/span><\/a> account shares that the estate \u201cis proud to strongly support <\/span>@plannedparenthood<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u2019s efforts to preserve important healthcare in the USA,\u201d noting the money is going to the Planned Parenthood Federation, Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast and Planned Parenthood Greater New York.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cTom\u2019s widow, Dana Petty<\/strong>, worked for Planned Parenthood for over a decade in various roles, including as a counselor, and Tom was quite proud of that fact,\u201d the post explains. \u201cIt is in this spirit that we encourage everyone to support the important access to rape kits and counseling, early screenings for cancer and of course the right to choose whether or not to become a parent.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

They also <\/span>shared a link<\/strong><\/span><\/a> for those who\u2019d like to follow their lead and donate to the organization.<\/span><\/p>\n
