Van Halen<\/strong> bassist Michael Anthony<\/strong> says it\u2019s been a while since he\u2019s been in touch with the band\u2019s original front man,\u00a0David Lee Roth<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a\u00a0video recently <\/span>posted to YouTube<\/strong><\/span><\/a> of a Q&A at a Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp that took place in March, Anthony says it\u2019s been \u201cquite some time\u201d since he\u2019s spoken to Roth.<\/span><\/p>\n

He\u00a0says\u00a0that the last time they talked was when there was a discussion about \u201ca possible reunion thing,\u201d with Anthony saying Roth and Alex Van Halen<\/strong>\u00a0called him from manager Irving Azoff<\/strong>\u2019s office \u201csome years back\u201d asking what he thought about doing reunion with Joe Satriani<\/strong> on guitar.<\/span><\/p>\n

He says, \u201cAnd that was probably the last time I talked to Dave. That was, you know, God, I don\u2019t know, about a few years ago now.”<\/span><\/p>\n

But it sounds like Anthony doesn\u2019t hold any ill will toward Dave, although he does describe him as \u201ckind of a crazy guy.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s hard to explain Dave. We don\u2019t have enough time,\u201d he says. \u201cI mean, I don\u2019t have anything against Dave. And I\u2019ve said this in the past to different people, whatever, that if the chance ever came up or whatever, I would definitely be willing to jam with him or whatever.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But Anthony hasn’t given up playing Van Halen music. He’s set to join the band’s other lead singer,\u00a0 Sammy Hagar<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>on The Best of All World Tour, where they plan to delve into the Van Halen catalog. The tour, which also features Satriani and drummer\u00a0Jason Bonham<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>kicks off July 13 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
