Pink Floyd<\/strong>\u2019s David Gilmour<\/strong> is set to release the new album, <\/span>Luck and Strange<\/span><\/em>, on September 6, his first album of new material in nine years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Recorded over five months in Brighton and London, the album features songs co-written by Gilmour\u2019s wife,\u00a0Polly Samson<\/strong>, who he\u2019s been collaborating with for the past\u00a030 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s written from the point of view of being older; mortality is the constant,\u201d Gilmour says of the songs. \u201cWe spent a load of time during and after lockdown talking about and thinking about those kind of things.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The album consists of eight new\u00a0songs and one cover, with the title track\u00a0featuring a contribution from late Pink Floyd keyboard Richard Wright<\/strong>, taken from a jam session at\u00a0Gilmour’s\u00a0barn back in 2007.\u00a0The first single from the record, \u201cThe Piper\u2019s Call,\u201d will be released Thursday, April 25, with <\/span>the video<\/strong><\/span><\/a> dropping Friday, April 26.<\/span><\/p>\n

Luck and Strange<\/span><\/em> will be released in a variety of formats, including LP, CD, Blu-ray and digital. All formats are <\/span>available for preorder<\/strong><\/span><\/a> now.<\/span><\/p>\n
