The Rolling Stones<\/strong> had some surprises in store for fans during their set at Jazz Fest in New Orleans on Thursday, May 2.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The rockers brought out two guests during the set, one of which helped them perform a song\u00a0that, according to <\/span>setlist.fm<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, they hadn\u2019t performed live in over 25 years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The first guest was Zydeco musician Dwayne Dopsie<\/strong>,\u00a0who the Stones called \u201cKing of the Accordion\u201d on <\/span>Instagram<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. He\u00a0joined them for \u201cLet It Bleed,\u201d marking the song\u2019s tour debut.<\/span><\/p>\n

They were then joined by Irma Thomas<\/strong> for \u201cTime is On My Side,\u201d which The Stones pointed out is “a song she knows very well as she\u2019d recorded it before the Rolling Stones in 1964!\u201d The performance of \u201cTime is On My Side\u201d marked the first time\u00a0the band has played it in concert since 1998.<\/span><\/p>\n

As for the rest of the set, it included such Stones classics as \u201cStart Me Up,\u201d \u201cYou Can\u2019t Always Get What You Want,\u201d \u201cSympathy for the Devil,\u201d \u201cHonky Tonk Woman,\u201d \u201cGimme Shelter\u201d and \u201c(I Can\u2019t Get No) Satisfaction,\u201d along with <\/span>Hackney Diamonds<\/span><\/em>\u00a0tracks \u201cAngry\u201d and \u201cSweet Sounds of Heaven.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It seems the one song with Irma wasn\u2019t enough for Stones guitarist\u00a0Ronnie Wood<\/strong>. He shared <\/span>on\u00a0social media<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0that he caught her midnight show at Preservation Hall in New Orleans and \u201cthen jumped up to play ‘Time Is On My Side’ with her and her amazing band!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Jazz Fest was the second night of The Rolling Stones \u201924 Hackney Diamonds tour. The trek hits Glendale, Arizona, on Tuesday, May 7. A complete list of dates can be found at rollingstones.com<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
