It\u2019s been a while since Journey<\/strong> fans have heard Steve Perry<\/strong> sing one of their songs, but now, they are getting their chance.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer appears on the just-released cover of the Journey <\/span>Raised on Radio\u00a0<\/span><\/em>track \u201c<\/span>It Could Have Been You<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u201d from\u00a0The Effect<\/strong>, the band made up of\u00a0Trevor Lukather\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014son of\u00a0Toto<\/strong>‘s\u00a0Steve Lukather<\/strong>\u2014\u00a0Phil Collins<\/strong>‘ son\u00a0Nic Collins<\/strong>,\u00a0Steve Maggiora\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Emmett Sans<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSteve and I go way back. Other than my Pop, SP has been a mentor to me,\u201d Trevor <\/span>shared on Instagram<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0when the song was first announced. \u201cWhen he heard The Effect, he called me and expressed how much he really loved what we were doing. It meant the world. On that same call, I started raving about a deep cut Journey tune ‘It Could Have Been You.'”<\/span><\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cThe idea came up about The Effect doing our own version of it. I asked SP if he\u2019d be into singing on it and he said yes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
