The late AC\/DC<\/strong> frontman Bon Scott<\/strong> is being celebrated with an honorary coin in Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Perth Mint<\/strong><\/span><\/a> recently unveiled the Bon Scott coin, made of 99.99% pure silver, with a colored image of\u00a0Bon Scott wearing a cut off vest on one side.\u00a0Next to the image is\u00a0\u201cBon Scott\u201d written out with the first “O”\u00a0covered by a\u00a0lion holding a microphone. King Charles<\/strong> is featured on the other side.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMany believe Bon Scott to be the greatest rock \u2018n roll singer of all time,\u201d reads the Perth Mint website, noting the rocker’s family moved to Fremantle, Western Australia, in 1952. \u201cOn joining AC\/DC in 1974, his inimitable stage presence and distinctive, raspy vocals were key elements in the band\u2019s rise to international super stardom. Together they recorded and performed some of the most enduring hard rock ever known.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The coin\u00a0is priced at about $90 and\u00a0is apparently a hot item, as it\u2019s already out of stock.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bon Scott passed away in February 1980. Following his death, Brian Johnson<\/strong> took over vocal duties in AC\/DC.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
