When Rush<\/strong>‘s Geddy Lee<\/strong> was on\u00a0the book tour for his biography <\/span>My Effin\u2019 Life<\/span><\/em>\u00a0last year, there was a lot of talk about whether he and his Rush bandmate Alex Lifeson<\/strong> had planned to make music together again. Well, Lifeson is now offering an update.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGed and I try to get together once a week,\u201d Lifeson tells ABC Audio. “I mean, we’re really, really good friends. We’re best friends.” He adds, \u201cI go over to his place. We have a little setup. He’s got a music room, and we just play together and have fun.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But in news that will be disappointing to Rush fans, Lifeson says they \u201care not talking about doing anything beyond that.\u201d Though\u00a0he does note, “Who knows what the future brings?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Lifeson says he and Geddy are at the point in their lives\u00a0where they have other interests, and for Lifeson that includes his new guitar and amplifier brand Lerxst, which recently introduced the Lerxst By-Tor pedal, the OMEGA signature amplifier and the Limelight guitar.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI kind of consolidated all the things that I learned into one package and wanted to see that come to life,\u201d he says of his products, noting the amp and pedal \u201cmakes the guitar sing in different ways.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As for the guitar, which was inspired by Lifeson\u2019s mid-’80s Hentor Sportscaster, Lifeson says it was particularly important to him that it was \u201csuper comfortable to play on.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, guitars are such a personal expression,\u201d he says. \u201cIt’s like a paintbrush. You know, you give the same paintbrush to two painters, they’ll paint differently with it. And, that’s the important thing of these guitars\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cThey\u2019re really solid, good, easy to play platform at any level.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
