His family says his third wife, <strong>Toni Poulton<\/strong>, who he married in 1989, has authorized AI-generated recordings to be used on a new album, although Marriott\u2019s four children are against it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe Marriott Estate is due to release an AI solo album of old and new songs of my father, Steve,\u201d <strong>Mollie Marriott<\/strong>\u00a0says in\u00a0a statement, noting the rocker\u2019s family has nothing to do with the estate.\u00a0Mollie&#8217;s\u00a0statement insists such recordings \u201cwould be a stain on my father\u2019s name.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cSomeone who was known as one of the greatest vocalists of our generation, with such a live and raw vocal, it would absolutely break his heart if he were alive to know this,\u201d the statement reads. \u201cThis is only for money, not art nor appreciation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In addition to Plant, Adams and Gilmour, Frampton is joined by his Humble Pie bandmate <strong>Jerry Shirley<\/strong> in supporting the Marriott family, with Small Faces\u2019 <strong>Kenney Jones\u00a0<\/strong>also on board, along with <strong>Glenn Hughes<\/strong>, <strong>Paul Weller<\/strong>, <strong>Paul Rodgers<\/strong> and <strong>Gary Kemp<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Chris France<\/strong>, managing director of Marriott\u2019s estate, told <\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">Variety<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\"> there are currently \u201cno confirmed plans to use Steve Marriott\u2019s voice on AI recordings,\u201d but there could be in the future, adding, \u201cI am afraid that [Mollie Marriott\u2019s] opinions are of no consequence to me or his estate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
