Deadheads are getting another preview of the Grateful Dead<\/strong>\u2019s upcoming 50th anniversary deluxe edition of <\/span>From The Mars Hotel<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The latest sneak peek is the live performance of \u201c<\/span>Ship of Fools (Live at University of Nevada 5\/12\/74)<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.” The entire previously unreleased concert is one of the many bonus features on the deluxe edition.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Debuting at Winterland in San Francisco on February 22, 1974, less than three months before the Reno show, ‘Ship Of Fools’ was one [of Jerry\u00a0Garcia<\/strong>‘s]\u00a0two mellower-tempo’d songs on <\/span>Mars Hotel<\/span><\/em> along with ‘China Doll,\u2019\u201d<\/span>\u00a0Dead Legacy manager and audio archivist\u00a0David Lemieux<\/strong>\u00a0writes. <\/span>\u201cIt was a mainstay of Grateful Dead setlists from its debut right through 1995, although it was only played a half dozen times in 1994 and 1995 combined.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cShip of Fools (Live at University of Nevada 5\/12\/74)\u201d is available now via <\/span>digital outlets<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

From The Mars Hotel (50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)\u00a0<\/span><\/em>includes a remastered version of the album, along with previously unreleased demos and the University of Nevada concert. It\u00a0will be released June 21 as a three-CD and digital set. The remastered version of the album will also be released as a single black vinyl; a limited-edition neon pink vinyl; a limited-edition \u201cUgly Rumors\u201d custom vinyl, sold exclusively on\u00a0<\/span>Dead.net<\/strong><\/span><\/a>; and a specially designed zoetrope picture disc.<\/span><\/p>\n
