{"id":29482,"date":"2024-05-10T12:00:05","date_gmt":"2024-05-10T12:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/santana-wants-to-put-together-another-woodstock\/"},"modified":"2024-05-10T12:00:05","modified_gmt":"2024-05-10T12:00:05","slug":"santana-wants-to-put-together-another-woodstock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/santana-wants-to-put-together-another-woodstock\/","title":{"rendered":"Santana wants to put together another Woodstock"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-05-09\/Getty_CarlosSantana_050924.jpg\" alt><figcaption> Gary Miller\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Carlos Santana<\/strong> made a splash when he performed at the original Woodstock in 1969, and it appears as though he\u2019s missing the experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In an interview with the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/entertainment\/entertainment-columns\/kats\/santana-wants-a-new-woodstock-as-he-makes-strip-return-3046252\/?utm_campaign=widget&amp;utm_medium=topnews&amp;utm_source=entertainment_music&amp;utm_term=Santana%20wants%20a%20new%20Woodstock%20as%20he%20makes%20Strip%20return\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Las Vegas Review-Journal<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0ahead of the return of his House of Blues residency, Santana reveals that he would love to put together another Woodstock-type concert.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI want to make it a global caravan of harmony and oneness, on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and bring the best bands and the best musicians,\u201d the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Famer shared. \u201cI have talked to\u00a0<strong>Eric Clapton\u00a0<\/strong>and certain musicians like\u00a0<strong>Earth Wind &amp; Fire<\/strong>, and they want to be a part of it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He adds, \u201cWhen I talk to promoters about this, they salivate. Everyone I talk to about it wants to be a part of this celebration.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The last time promoters tried to bring back Woodstock was in 2019 for the festival\u2019s 50th anniversary, but the show was eventually canceled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As for when Santana thinks <\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">his<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\"> Woodstock could happen, the 76-year-old notes, \u201cThis is not outside the realm of possibilities, from 2025-2027.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Santana\u2019s Vegas residency, <\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\">, returns to the House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on Friday, May 10.
