The follow-up, 1983\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">War,\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\">propelled them to stardom thanks to hit singles \u201cSunday Bloody Sunday\u201d and \u201cPride (In The Name of Love).\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The band has gone on to release 15 studio albums and win 22 Grammys, including Album of the Year for 1987\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">The Joshua Tree<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\">. They\u2019ve sold between 150 million and 170 million records and were inducted into the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 in their first year of eligibility.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In addition to U2, Bono is known for his activism and philanthropy, and has worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the plight of the people of Africa.
