Ringo Starr<\/strong> recently revealed <\/span>on Instagram<\/strong><\/span><\/a> that he\u2019s working on a country album, and now, he\u2019s sharing a little more information about the project.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m working on it with someone very special \u2013\u00a0T. Bone Burnett<\/strong>,\u201d he tells <\/span>USA Today<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s doing stuff in Nashville and he comes to L.A. and it\u2019s all working out. He came to me with nine songs. It won\u2019t be out until October, at least.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In the meantime, Ringo is getting ready to hit the road with his All Starr Band<\/strong>, something he\u2019s been doing since 1989.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first started this, I was invited to put a band together and go on tour, and I said yes, and then I said: What do you mean, yes? You\u2018re the drummer in other people\u2019s bands!\u201d he shares about how the tour got started. \u201cBut I opened my phone book and called everyone I knew and they all said yes. So I had to close my book.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

While the lineup for the band has changed over the years, one constant since 2012 has been\u00a0Toto<\/strong>\u2019s Steve Lukather<\/strong>, and Ringo plans to keep it that way.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll never get rid of Luke. He has a lifelong ticket,\u201d Starr says. \u201cHe\u2019s my last best friend. You need time to make best friends. He\u2019s an incredibly good musician and an incredible human being.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaking of friends, Ringo also opens up about his relationship with Paul McCartney<\/strong>,\u00a0sharing\u00a0they often have dinner together because \u201cwe\u2019re buddies.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he comes to LA we certainly do something, and when I get to England we\u2019ll do something there,\u201d he says. \u201cIt\u2019s just what we do.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
