Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band<\/strong> brought their tour to Kilkenny, Ireland, on Sunday, where\u00a0they paid\u00a0tribute to the late Irish singer Shane MacGowan<\/strong>, who passed away in November at age 65.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fan-shot footage posted to social media shows Bruce and the band performing \u201cA Rainy Night in Soho,\u201d the classic track by MacGowan\u2019s band The<\/strong> Pogues<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

When Shane died Bruce paid tribute to\u00a0him\u00a0<\/span>on social media<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, sharing that Shane \u201cwas one of my all-time favorite writers.\u201d He added, \u201cThe passion and deep intensity of his music and lyrics is unmatched by all but the very best in the rock and roll canon.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

According to <\/span>setlist.fm<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, \u201cA Rainy Night in Soho\u201d was the first song of Springsteen\u2019s main set, but fans who got to the show early got a surprise from The Boss. The rocker came out with his guitar to perform for the \u201cearly birds\u201d in the audience, treating them to an acoustic performance of \u201cThis Hard Land.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The rest of concert\u00a0featured plenty of Springsteen classics, including \u201cBorn To Run,\u201d \u201cDancing in the Dark,\u201d \u201cBadlands\u201d and \u201cThunder Road.\u201d\u00a0Springsteen\u00a0also got up close and personal with the Kilkenny crowd, jumping into the pit during \u201cSpirit in the Night.\u201d Unfortunately he had\u00a0a little issue getting out and needed a hand from security to lift him out.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bruce has two more shows in Ireland: He plays Cork on May 16 and Dublin on May 19. A complete list of dates can be found at <\/span>brucespringsteen.net<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
