The Rolling Stones<\/strong> have been changing up the sets on their \u201924 Hackney Diamonds tour, substituting\u00a0a few songs\u00a0here and there, but it sounds like\u00a0there’s potential to\u00a0shake things up even more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a> magazine interviewed the creative team behind the tour, revealing the band rehearsed between 60 and 70 songs for the trek.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe real privilege is to see them in rehearsal,\u201d lighting designer\u00a0Patrick Woodroffe<\/strong>, who\u2019s worked with The Stones since 1982, tells the mag. \u201cIt\u2019s thrilling still, even after all this time.\u201d He notes, \u201cThey\u2019ve always had really high standards, particularly about rehearsing, even during some of the more chaotic periods of their career. I see them in rehearsal as a small group of players just wanting to make their music.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The tour has the band performing on a\u00a0massive stage\u00a0featuring 2,300 square feet of high-resolution LED screens. The idea is to create what is described as a “virtual stage” for The Stones,\u00a0changing up the look throughout the show.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe stage is embellished by all of the digital media around them, and that, by default, makes it very contemporary,\u201d shares\u00a0Ray Winkler,\u00a0<\/strong>CEO and design director at Stufish Entertainment Architects,\u00a0the company that\u00a0created the stage. \u201cIt\u2019s not about the physical presence of a stage set but the continuing, evolving, and developing imagery that you see on the screens.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a team effort,\u201d he says of the production. \u201cIt\u2019s a massive endeavor to get a project like this from an idea on paper into reality. There\u2019s a lot of unsung heroes that contribute toward the success of it.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n
