John Lennon<\/strong>\u2019s 1973 solo album,\u00a0<\/span>Mind Games<\/span><\/em>, is getting a brand new reissue with lots of extra goodies for fans.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The newly expanded <\/span>Mind Games – Ultimate Collection<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>\u00a0is set to drop July 12, produced by Sean Ono Lennon<\/strong>, who oversaw the project, and with the blessing of Yoko Ono Lennon<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the press release, the <\/span>Ultimate Collection<\/span><\/em> \u201cputs listeners in the center of the studio and explores the album\u2019s 1973 recording sessions at the Record Plant in New York City.\u201d It will include six different listening experiences, featuring unreleased outtakes, stripped down mixes, instrumentals, demos, rehearsals and even what\u2019s described as \u201cstudio chatter.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

And fans are getting a preview of what to expect with the release of “<\/span>Mind Games” (Evolution Documentary)<\/strong><\/span><\/a>,” an audio documentary\u00a0that gives listeners insight into the evolution of the album’s title track. It includes an\u00a0early piano demo of song, which at the time was called \u201cMake Love Not War,” along with studio rehearsals and various takes on the tune. There’s also\u00a0never-before-seen footage of\u00a0John and Yoko in their\u00a0bedroom at their Ascot home in February 1970.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mind Games \u2013 The Ultimate Collection\u00a0<\/span><\/em>will be released\u00a0as two-CD and two-LP versions, as well as a deluxe box set with six CDs and two Blu-rays and a super deluxe edition, which is limited to only 1,100 copies and includes two limited-edition reproduction artworks by John and Yoko, nine LPs, six CDs and two Blu-rays.<\/span><\/p>\n
