Based on recent interviews with Pete Townshend<\/strong> and Roger Daltrey<\/strong>, fans of The Who<\/strong> may be worried that they\u2019ll never see their favorite band again \u2014 but Townshend is now giving them some hope.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a March interview with\u00a0<\/span>The New York Times<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>, Townshend said he no longer got a \u201cbuzz from performing with The Who\u201d and that he was only \u201ctouring for the money.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0Then in April, Daltrey told the <\/span>Miami Herald<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a> that if Pete wasn\u2019t into touring he wouldn\u2019t do it, noting, \u201cI don’t want to be back with the Who on the road, at 81, with someone who doesn’t want be there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But in a new interview with <\/span>MOJO<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>, Townshend seems to have changed his tune, insisting, \u201cThe Who are not done yet\u201d and noting that his relationship with Roger is \u201cbetter than it\u2019s ever been.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI wish it were more intimate, but that\u2019s not possible because we are so different,\u201d he says. \u201cBut we value and respect each other more.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding their working relationship, Townshend says, \u201cThe Who are a brand and a friendship, but it\u2019s not a band. It\u2019s not a hard-working, complicated, growing and evolving f****** jazz group. We\u2019re not challenging each other to work musical miracles, but we\u2019re playing music we know so well.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo never say never,\u201d Pete offers about the future of\u00a0the group. \u201cI don\u2019t want to do what I did before and say we\u2019re never going to work again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
