Ringo Starr <\/strong>is about to launch the latest tour with his All Starr Band<\/strong> \u2013 Toto<\/strong>\u2019s Steve Lukather<\/strong>,\u00a0Edgar Winter<\/strong>, Men At Work<\/strong>\u2019s Colin Hay<\/strong>,\u00a0Warren Ham<\/strong>,\u00a0Hamish Stuart\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Gregg Bissonette\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 and there\u2019s a simple reason why he keeps assembling all these well-known rock stars to join him onstage.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I have a passion for playing and, you know, I am the drummer, so I need a band in front of me,\u201d he explains. \u201cI get to play with a lot of good players, and I play all their songs, they play mine, but I also then get a spot in the front, you know, which is great, too.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The tour gives each artist a chance to shine with their own material, and Ringo says he offers one piece of advice to everyone as each tour begins: \u201cLet\u2019s just support each other.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He notes, \u201cThat’s what it’s about.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

And while Ringo just released a new EP, <\/span>Crooked Boy<\/span><\/em>, he assures fans that he won\u2019t be playing any new songs on the tour, joking, “If you want to sell T-shirts, you do the new record.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead, fans can expect an evening filled with some of their favorite tunes.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe, like, do the hits from the bands. That’s what it’s all about,\u201d he says. \u201cSo it’s a great day out cause you hear a lot of songs you really love.\u00a0It\u2019d be funny, wouldn’t it, to go on then not do \u2018Little Help From My Friends.\u2019 So I do it cause I know they love it and I love it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
